El “Observatorio Barcelona 2014” incluye algunos datos espectaculares sobre la importancia de la capital catalana a nivel mundial. Así, es la cuarta ciudad en atracción de congresos y una de las diez con mayor capacidad de captación de inversión extranjera. Si se cogen solo las metrópolis del sur de Europa, es la primera en este último aspecto.
El informe Observatorio Barcelona 2014 compara cada año el nivel de la ciudad condal con el de las principales ciudades europeas y del mundo a través de 29 indicadores económicos y sociales de ámbitos diversos: negocio, conocimiento, turismo, sostenibilidad y calidad de vida, precios y costes, mercado laboral y formación.
