La Comisión Europea ha incluido a metroo en un listado de aplicaciones que usan open data, en concreto para la sección de incidencias de tráfico (por ejemplo, las de Madrid). Se trata del primer estudio realizado sobre datos abiertos desde Bruselas y cuya publicación coincide con el despliegue de una ambiciosa estrategia para ampliar su utilización en toda la UE.
