Bilbao figura en el Top 10 de ciudades europeas de tamaño medio en las que invertir
Normalmente los rankings de ciudades solo incluyen a Madrid o a Barcelona en la elite económica mundial. Pero el Financial Times ha elaborado una clasificación exclusivamente de metrópolis de tamaño medio (entre 200.000 y 750.000 habitantes) en la que, a nivel europeo, se sitúa Bilbao en la novena posición.
Top 10 de ciudades europeas de tamaño medio:
1. Edimburgo (Reino Unido)
2. Lyon (Francia)
3. Liverpool (Reino Unido)
4. Amberes (Bélgica)
5. Newcastle upon Tyne (Reino Unido)
6. Coventry (Reino Unido)
7. Sheffield (Reino Unido)
8. Oporto (Portugal)
9. Bilbao
10. Zurich (Suiza)
El ranking, de carácter bianual y denominado ‘Ciudades y Regiones Europeas del Futuro 2014/2015’, se ha publicado en la revista ‘fDi (Foreign Direct Invesment)’ del diario Financial Times. Para elaborar la clasificación de ciudades, se han tenido en cuenta indicadores como la creación de nuevos espacios e infraestructuras de oportunidad, la mejora y mantenimiento de la conectividad de la ciudad, la promoción de un entorno económico atractivo y el mantenimiento de una calidad de vida alta en la ciudad. Igualmente, se valoraron los incentivos a la implantación de nuevas empresas, la existencia de una población altamente cualificada y la promoción internacional de la ciudad.
