Valencia se mueve
Parecía que la crisis inmobiliaria estaba haciendo a Valencia perder posiciones en cuanto a su importancia relativa como centro de negocios. Sin embargo, algunas noticias recientes parecen situar a la ciudad del Turia en su lugar. Así, Ikea ha anunciado la apertura de un nuevo centro en la capital levantina y Apple abrió su primer “store” de calle en España, en donde trabajan 100 personas.
El Ayuntamiento de Valencia también destaca la decisión de Telefónica de cablear con fibra óptica toda la ciudad, así como las inversiones de Ford (trasladando parte de su producción en Bélgica) y Mediterranean Shipping Company (construirá una torre de oficinas) y la creación de una aceleradora de proyectos digitales, Plugg&Play. “Además albergamos, entre otros centros de renombre, el Laboratorio Europeo Espacial de Radiofrecuencia y el Berkley College of Music”, explica el Consistorio.
Después de fiascos como el de la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, es posible que hayamos entrado en una nueva época para Valencia basada en menos megaproyectos públicos y mayor protagonismo del sector privado. Su posicionamiento como salida al mar de Madrid y como centro económico del Levante, en competencia con Barcelona, sigue en vigor. La ciudad se lo merece.
