Barcelona se posiciona como capital digital del mundo
A raíz de la celebración del Mobile World Congress, el Ayuntamiento de Barcelona ha dado a conocer su interés en posicionarse como capital digital del mundo y por aprovecha las nuevas tecnologías para generar una ciudad inteligente. Es cierto que durante una semana, la capital condal atrae año tras año las miradas de todas las empresas interesadas en la telefonía móvil, que hoy en día son prácticamente todas las que realizan actividades en tecnologías de la información y la comunicación.
Al congreso acuden directamente 67.000 profesionales de todo el mundo, pero muchos otros siguen atentamente la información y las presentaciones que se producen en Barcelona. ¿Pero se puede prolongar este espíritu a lo largo de todo el año? Es cierto que la ciudad ha creado un parque tecnológico urbano centrado en este sector, el 22@, pero encuentra problemas para atraer permanentemente a inversores y emprendedores, que parecen preferir Londres o Berlín para iniciar sus proyectos.
El esfuerzo público ha movido a multinacionales como Telefónica, T-Systems, Microsoft, Indra o Cisco a abrir centros importantes en Barcelona. También hay iniciativas privadas de gran éxito, como Seed Rocket, una incubadora de startups. Por no hablar de la ya tradicional factoría de Intercom, que ha engendrado líderes como Infojobs o Softonic.
